Batik has avery special place in the world of textiles. No other cloth in the Indonesian Archipelago, perhaps in the whole world,contains so much symbolism and so many meaning. In the philosophy of its colour and design,and in the way it is made, foldes and worn, batik expresses the spirit of the people who make it and wear it and who treasure it as part of their heritage
